Where certificates are stored

Store your certificates online for free
To keep your certificates safe, we highly recommend using an online storage and sharing facility such as Dropbox or OneDrive. Read more [here](backup-online).

Where Shine Forms stores your certificates

Shine Forms keeps all your certificates on your computer under you user profile. They are stored in the following ways:

  • In the main Shine Forms certificate database.
  • In export files created by you or by Shine Forms (.PEX files).
  • In the automatic Shine Forms backup location.
  • In backup files created by you.

Recovering files from an old computer

You can recover certificates from an old computer in the folowing ways:

1 - If you still have access to the old computer, then you can use Shine Forms to take a backup of your certificates and company details.

2 - If you have configured Shine Forms to use an online storage and sharing facility such as Dropbox or OneDrive, then your files will be in there. You can read how to set that up here.

3 - If you have set up Shine Forms to use external storage such as an external hard disk, then you can recover your backups from there.

4 - If you have shared exported certificates with other engineers by email or some other means, then you can import the certificates from the export files.

5 - If you still have access to the old computer, but it is not working, then your local computer repair shop may be able to recover files from the hard drive even if it is not working. PC World used to provide such a service.
