What we can do is describe what each product is, how it's sold and who it's built for, and leave the judgement to you. It's all taken from each company's own website. No star ratings, no review counts or opinions on anyone's reputation, including ours. The prices are left out deliberately. They change, and a comparison built on figures goes stale fast. The pricing model tells you more anyway, since that's what decides whether a busy month costs more than a quiet one. It's a cloud platform covering certificate creation, validation and audit records, sold alongside Joblogic FSM for job scheduling, quoting and invoicing. Certificates come from a template library, including NICEIC forms, with a validation engine that can be set anywhere from optional checks to full pass requirements before sign-off. It suits contractors who want certification inside a wider job management setup. ### EasyCert A long-running Windows desktop product from TySoft covering BS 7671, BS 5839 and BS 5266. Sold as a one-off purchase, with updates and support through a separate annual package. Each licence covers one installation, so a second machine means buying again. It suits contractors who prefer to buy outright and work mostly from one computer. ### Electraform Pay-as-you-go. You buy certificate credits in blocks and spend one per certificate, with photographs drawing on a separate pool of image credits. It suits low or unpredictable volume. The thing to work out is your annual number, since the cost follows your workload and rises in your busiest months. ### iCertifi An app family covering electrical, fire, gas and PAT certification, sold through the App Store with unlimited certificates on every plan. Cloud Pro adds team collaboration, remote QS sign-off and sync across iPhone, iPad and Mac. Separate AI features read boards from photographs. It suits teams working from Apple devices, particularly anyone producing gas or fire certificates too. ### Megger CertSuite A cloud-based service with a companion app, covering BS 7671 certificates alongside EV charge points, fire, emergency lighting and PAT. Megger's test instruments connect to it directly. Sold per user, monthly or annually. It suits teams already using Megger instruments who want results moving from the tester into the certificate. ### NAPIT FastTest Covers electrical, fire, gas, ventilation and emergency lighting, running on phones, tablets and browsers though not macOS. Sold as an annual licence including 200 AI credits, one per AI circuit generation. NAPIT members can notify work from within it. It suits contractors who want the widest certificate range in one product and are with NAPIT. ### NICEIC Online Free to registered contractors, with the cost falling on the certificate numbers you buy. It suits modest volumes if you're settled with NICEIC. It's worth running your annual number rather than assuming free means free, and asking what happens to your history if you change scheme. ### Shine Forms That's us, formerly Pirform. The BS 7671 rules are programmed in and check your values as you enter them, so a Zs reading over the maximum for that circuit is flagged while you're still standing at the board. Those checks are verified directly against BS 7671 by someone who helps write it. Boards, circuits and observations export to Excel whenever you want the data outside the certificate. Issued PDFs carry tamper protection. Additional engineers cost an extra monthly fee each, office users are free, and the free tier needs a subscription to download PDFs. AI features are metered through a monthly token allowance. It suits teams wanting live collaboration between site and office, and anyone comfortable with a bill that varies with AI usage. ## The question worth asking Most of the products here will produce a certificate, and several will collaborate across a team and sign off remotely. Fewer will tell you whether the values on the certificate are right. So when you're comparing, ask each of them where the regulation knowledge comes from, who verifies it against the current standard, whether the checking is metered, and how quickly support answers when something goes wrong.
